Injury Update: Bears RG Jonah Jackson set to play vs. Patriots

Injury Update Jonah Jackson 2026 Week 7 NEW 16x9 - 1W

Right guard Jonah Jackson has not missed a start since signing with the Bears prior to last season and it appears that his streak will continue.

Despite exiting last Sunday's win over the Falcons with hip and quadriceps issues that continued to impact him early in the week, Jackson was not given an injury designation for Thursday's home game against the Patriots.

With such a short turnaround between games, the Bears did not conduct a regular practice this week. But on the estimated injury report they are required to submit, Jackson would not have been able to work out Monday, would have been limited Tuesday and would have been a full participant Wednesday.

Two Bears players have been ruled out for the game: Running back Kyle Monangai (thumb/toe) and linebacker Jack Sanborn (concussion).

Monangai will miss his third straight contest. Despite not having played since Week 4, he still ranks 16th in the NFL in rushing with 324 yards and six touchdowns on 60 carries. With D'Andre Swift having rushed for 398 yards, the Bears are the only NFL team with two rushers with at least 300 yards apiece.

Linebacker T.J. Edwards is listed as doubtful due to a hamstring injury and therefore is expected to miss his second straight game.

The only other Bears player on the injury report is cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (hip), who is questionable, although he would have been a full participant in practice for the third consecutive day.

Injuries are impacting the Patriots, especially on their offensive line. They will play without starting left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (hamstring) and right guard Ben Brown (knee), both of whom were hurt in last Sunday's 26-19 home win over the Jets. They are expected to be replaced by Walter Rouse — a third-year pro who would be making his first NFL start — and Matt Pryor, respectively.

Pryor, who served as the Bears' starting right guard in 2024, would become New England's fourth starting right guard in seven games this season. Mike Onwenu was placed on injured reserve after two contests, replacement Greg Van Roten followed him onto IR a week later and Brown got hurt in his third start.

In addition to Vera-Tucker and Brown, the Patriots have also ruled out starting cornerback Carlton Davis III (neck) and reserve cornerbacks Channing Canada (hamstring) and Karon Prunty (hamstring) for Thursday night's game.

Former Bears safety Kevin Byard III (chest), who is in his first season with New England, is listed as questionable despite being a full participant in practice all week.
