The Bears on Thursday signed receiver Rodney Adams to their practice squad.
Adams was waived Wednesday but was not claimed by another team. The 6-1, 188-pounder originally joined the Bears Aug. 20, 2020 and spent last season on the practice squad.
Adams emerged as a playmaker during the preseason, making a sensational 73-yard touchdown catch against the Bills and an equally impressive 25-yard reception versus the Dolphins. He led the Bears in the preseason with 10 receptions for 161 yards and one TD.
The Bears hit the fields at Halas Hall Thursday afternoon for the first padded practice since the roster was reduced to 53 players.
