Roster Moves: Bears downgrade two DBs, activate Crawford

The Bears on Saturday downgraded cornerback Jaylon Johnson (shoulder) and safety Deon Bush (foot) from questionable to out for Sunday's game in Minnesota.

Nickel back Buster Skrine, who remains in concussion protocol, will also sit out the contest.

With Johnson, Bush and Skrine all unavailable, the Bears activated cornerback Xavier Crawford from the practice squad as a COVID-19 replacement. Crawford was selected by the Texans in the sixth round of the 2019 draft out of Central Michigan. He appeared in four games with the Texans and one with the Dolphins last year, recording two tackles.

In last Sunday's win over the Texans, second-year pro Duke Shelley replaced Skrine and rookie fifth-round pick Kindle Vildor entered in the third quarter after Johnson was injured.

The Bears also announced that defensive backs coach Deshea Townsend will not travel with the team to Minnesota due to a personal issue.
