The Chicago Bears have agreed to acquire a 2027 fifth-round pick and defensive back Clark Phillips III in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for defensive lineman Gervon Dexter Sr., pending physicals.
Phillips is in his fourth NFL season in 2026, spending each of his first three professional seasons with the Atlanta Falcons after being selected by the Falcons in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft (113th overall).
Appearing in 28 regular-season games (seven starts) over the last three seasons with Atlanta, Phillips totaled 62 tackles (49 solo), including four tackles for loss, as well as 10 passes defensed, including one interception.
A native of Lakewood, Calif., Phillips started 31 career games at Utah over three seasons of action (2020-22), earning unanimous All-America recognition and AP Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022.
