The Chicago Bears on Saturday placed defensive back Kyler Gordon and offensive lineman Braxton Jones on Reserve/Injured and signed defensive lineman Jonathan Ford to the active roster.
The Bears have also elevated tight end Stephen Carlson and defensive back Dallis Flowers from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Per NFL regulation, all standard elevations revert back to the practice squad following the game.
Additionally, defensive lineman Austin Booker (knee) and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga (knee) have been downgraded to OUT and remain on Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return.
Ford is in his second season with Chicago, appearing in three games this year (Weeks 4-7) along the defensive front, all victories, and in each of the final four games last season for the Bears. Ford entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection (234th overall) by the Green Bay Packers in the 2022 NFL Draft, spending each of his first three professional seasons with the Packers before being signed by the Bears to Chicago's active roster off of Green Bay's practice squad prior to Week 15 last season. A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Ford appeared in 50 career games (30 starts) over five collegiate seasons (2017-21) at Miami (Fla.), totaling 60 tackles, including three sacks, as well as one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
Carlson has appeared in 26 career regular-season games (seven starts), as well as two postseason appearances (2020), for the Cleveland Browns (2019-21) and Chicago Bears (2023-25) since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019. Carlson made his season debut in Chicago's Week 4 win over Las Vegas. During his tenure with Cleveland, Carlson totaled six catches for 62 yards (10.3 avg.) and one touchdown, while also contributing on special teams. Carlson originally joined the Bears prior to the 2023 season, appearing in one game for Chicago, and has spent the last two years with the organization, primarily on the club's practice squad. A native of Jamestown, N.Y., Carlson prepped collegiately at Princeton (2015-18), capping his tenure with the Tigers ranking third all-time in program history for touchdown catches (16), earning Second-Team All-Ivy League honors following his final season.
Flowers joined Chicago's practice squad prior to Week 2 and made his first appearance as a member of the Bears in Chicago's Week 3 win over the Dallas Cowboys, logging one special teams tackle. Flowers has appeared in 24 career games, starting five in the secondary, for the Indianapolis Colts (2022-24), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2024) and the Bears (2025), joining Chicago after spending 2025 training camp with the San Francisco 49ers. Since entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Colts in 2022, Flowers has totaled 32 tackles (26 solo), including two tackles for loss, as well as three passes defensed and one fumble recovery. As a rookie, Flowers appeared in 13 games for the Colts, primarily contributing on special teams. Flowers capped his collegiate career at Pittsburg State (Kan.) in 2021, appearing in 11 games, totaling four interceptions, after being named an NAIA First-Team All-American on two occasions at Grand View University.
