Top 10: Best of the rest
Senior writer Larry Mayer ranks the top 10 Bears who do not appear among the best 100 players in franchise history in the Bears Centennial Scrapbook.

(10) William "Refrigerator" Perry, defensive tackle/fullback
The Fridge garnered more attention as the world's largest ballcarrier, but he also had a solid career on the Bears defensive line for nine seasons from 1985-93.

(9) Nathan Vasher, cornerback
Vasher played six seasons with the Bears from 2004-09 and was voted to the Pro Bowl in 2005 when he led the team with a career-high eight interceptions.

(8) Marty Booker, receiver
A dependable pass-catcher in two stints with the Bears from 1999-2003 and again in 2008, Booker is tied for fourth on the club's all-time receiving list with 329 catches.

(7) Roberto Garza, guard/center
A solid and durable pro who played both guard and center, Garza started all 16 games seven times in 10 seasons with the Bears from 2005-14.

(6) Leslie Frazier, cornerback
Frazier's promising career was cut short by a knee injury he sustained in Super Bowl XX. But prior to that he was a top coverage corner who recorded 20 career interceptions.

(5) Tim Jennings, cornerback
Jennings was voted to two Pro Bowls in five seasons with the Bears from 2010-14, including in 2012 when he led the NFL with nine interceptions.

(4) Curtis Conway, receiver
Conway played seven seasons with the Bears from 1993-99 and is tied for fourth in team history with 329 receptions, ranks sixth with 4,498 receiving yards and is tied for fifth with 31 touchdown catches.

(3) Dave Whitsell, cornerback
A starter on the 1963 NFL title team, Whitsell never missed a game in six seasons with the Bears from 1961-66 and ranks sixth in team history with 26 interceptions.

(2) Thomas Jones, running back
Jones played just three seasons with the Bears from 2004-06, but he ranks sixth on the team's all-time rushing list with 3,493 yards and ran for 22 touchdowns.

(1) Alex Brown, defensive end
Strong against the pass and run, Brown played eight seasons with the Bears from 2002-09 and ranks fourth on the club's all-time sack list with 43.5.
