Bears add WR Wright, OT Compton

The Bears on Saturday bolstered their offense by agreeing to terms with receiver Kendall Wright and tackle Tom Compton on one-year contracts.

Wright, 27, arrives after spending his first five NFL seasons with the Titans, appearing in 66 games with 41 starts and catching 280 passes for 2,244 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Selected by Tennessee with the 20th pick in the first round of the 2012 draft out of Baylor, Wright had 64 receptions for 626 yards and four TDs as a rookie. The 5-10, 194-pounder had a breakout second season in 2013, catching 94 passes for 1,079 yards and two touchdowns.

Bears offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains served in the same role with the Titans during Wright's first two NFL seasons.

Last year Wright appeared in 11 games with four starts, catching 29 passes for 416 yards and three TDs.

Compton, 27, joins the Bears after spending his first five NFL seasons with the Washington Redskins (2013-15) and Atlanta Falcons (2016), playing in 60 games with 10 starts.

The 6-5, 314-pounder was selected by the Redskins in the sixth round of the 2012 draft out of South Dakota. He spent most of his rookie year on Washington's practice squad before being promoted to the active roster late in the season.

Compton signed with the Falcons last March and appeared in all 16 games with Atlanta as a reserve.
