Injury Update: LBs T.J. Edwards, Noah Sewell set to return versus Packers Sunday

T.J. Edwards Noah Sewell Injury Update 2025 Week 14 16x9 - 2W

The Bears linebacking corps received positive news Friday as T.J. Edwards and Noah Sewell do not have injury designations and will return to action this Sunday in Green Bay.

Edwards (hand/hamstring) has missed four straight games while Sewell (elbow) was out of the past two contests after getting injured against the Vikings Nov. 16.

"I'm excited to get out there," Edwards said. "Good week of practice, and going up to Green Bay, no better way to do it."

The defense has also been without linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, who is on injured reserve with a groin injury, giving the opportunity for reserves D'Marco Jackson and Amen Ogbongbemiga to step up the past few weeks. Edwards said the pair helped "us not miss a beat on defense."

With Sewell's return, along with the proven abilities of Jackson and Ogbongbemiga, Edwards feels confident about the linebacker group heading into Sunday's rivalry matchup.

"Another guy who came in and during camp, kind of showed his growth and showed that he's ready to be a big time player," Edwards said of Sewell. "So for him to go out for a couple weeks and then be back and ready to go, it's excitement. We've got all the bullets ready to go, and obviously, still missing our guy (Edmunds), but excited about what we got going."

The Bears offense, however, will be without star receiver Rome Odunze, who did not practice all week with a foot injury. The second-year pro currently leads the team with 44 catches for 661 yards and six touchdowns. Sunday will mark the first missed game of Odunze's NFL career.

Also ruled out for Sunday's contest are cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (hip) and linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II, both of whom missed last Friday's victory in Philadelphia after being injured the week before against the Steelers.
