Roster Move: Bears release NT Eddie Goldman

DL Eddie Goldman

The Bears on Monday released veteran nose tackle Eddie Goldman.

Selected by the Bears in the second round of the 2015 draft out of Florida State, Goldman appeared in 81 games with 73 starts over six seasons, registering 175 tackles, 13.0 sacks and 18 tackles-for-loss.

Goldman rejoined the Bears last year after opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns. But the 6-3, 325-pounder never regained the form he displayed in 2019 when he was chosen as a Pro Bowl alternate. Slowed by knee and ankle injuries and a stint on the COVID-19 list, he recorded 22 tackles and posted career lows in sacks (0.5) and tackles-for-loss (1) while playing 14 games.
