The Bears on Saturday signed kicker Michael Badgley to the practice squad and then elevated him to the active roster ahead of Sunday's road game against the Giants.

Running back Darrynton Evans was also elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.

Kicker Cairo Santos did not practice Thursday and Friday due to an undisclosed personal reason and was downgraded to out Sunday morning after originally being listed as questionable.

Santos, who is in his third season with the Bears, is 4 for 4 on field goal attempts this season while making 4 of 6 extra point attempts. He kicked the game-winning 30-yard field goal against the Texans last Sunday as time expired and was good from 50 and 47 yards out earlier in the day.

Badgley has four years of NFL experience, originally signing with the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2018. While he didn't make the final roster, Badlgey was signed by the Chargers on Oct. 11, 2018.

Badgley spent three seasons with the Chargers, where he kicked in 34 games and made 82.6 percent of his field goal attempts.

Badgley was released by Los Angeles following the 2020 season. While Badgley had a brief stint with the Titans in 2021, playing in just one game, he spent most of the season with the Colts. The kicker appeared in 12 games with Indianapolis, making 18 of 21 field goal attempts and was 39 for 39 in extra point tries.
