Black History Month Youth Leader Award

In celebration of Black History Month, the Black History Month Youth Leader Award honors two outstanding young athletes who excel both in the classroom and in their community. This initiative recognizes individuals—players, managers, or others connected to the football community—who embody leadership, academic excellence, and a commitment to uplifting the Black community.

Nominated by their football coaches, these exceptional youth serve as role models, inspiring others through their dedication and achievements.

Requirements:

  • Student must currently be enrolled at a high school in Illinois.
  • Student must have been an active participant in their high school football/girls flag program during the 2024 season.
  • Student must exemplify Chicago Bears core values of respect, championship mindset, community, and perseverance.

One boys tackle football player and one girls flag football player, or an individual who has made a significant impact in the football community, will be selected as the award recipients. Application deadline will be end of day on January 28th. The winners will be notified by February 15th.
