Bears 5K, Kids Dash to be held Saturday

The 2017 PNC Chicago Bears 5K, which will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, will give participants a unique opportunity.

Entrants will be able to run along Chicago's iconic lakefront path, through the tunnels at Soldier Field and cross the finish line on the field, which will be broadcast on the video boards inside the stadium. New in 2017, all runners will get their picture taken as they cross the finish line and receive the photo via e-mail to capture the special moment.

Relive the excitement of the PNC Chicago Bears 5K as runners started with a gameday experience and finished on legendary Soldier Field.

This year, for the first time, race participants will have the option to create personal or team fundraising pages during the registration process, which will also qualify them for a chance to win unique prizes. Bears Care will invest 100 percent of participant fundraising in programs focused on rebuilding trust, sense of community and infrastructure in Chicago's neighborhoods most significantly impacted by gun violence.

Registration for the race includes entry into the PNC Chicago Bears 5K, a Nike Dri-FIT shirt, a custom-designed championship finisher medal, a Bears-branded race bib, a Miller Lite beer voucher for runners 21 and over, and a post-race party. Fans, friends and family of all ages are invited to cheer on participants from inside Soldier Field at the South End Zone (entry will be located at Gate 6).

Also new this year is the Kids Dash for children between ages 5-12. The race will begin under the iconic Chicago Bear tunnel and finish on the field with Staley Da Bear; kids participating in the race will receive a Kids Dash-themed shirt, finisher medal and race bib, along with a Kids Club giveaway.

Following the 5K race, runners and fans can get together at the Stadium Green area just outside of Soldier Field for a tailgate-style party. Each registered participant (21 and over) can enjoy a Miller Lite while experiencing a gameday-like atmosphere with entertainment from the Bears Drumline, Staley Da Bear, Monster Squad brought to you by Dunkin' Donuts and more.

The post-race festivities, which are free and open to the public, will include live music, opportunities to win Bears tickets and merchandise, alumni autographs, giveaways, games and sponsor displays. Food, beverages and Bears Pro Shop merchandise will be available for purchase.

Registration costs $55 per person. The Kids Dash is $15 per child between ages 5-12.

The PNC Chicago Bears 5K is produced by RAM Racing and brought to you by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Miller Lite, Olivet Nazarene University and Proven IT.
