Defensive back Demontre Hurst was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.

Hurst has appeared in 23 games with three starts the past three seasons with the Bears, recording 41 tackles, one interception, two pass breakups and one forced fumble. He has spent most of this year on the practice squad, playing in only one game Oct. 9 in Indianapolis.

Glenn appeared in seven games with three starts this season, compiling 26 tackles, one interception, six pass breakups and one forced fumble. He entered the NFL with the Bears last year as an undrafted free agent and spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad, appearing in just one game last Dec. 13 against the Redskins.

The Bears on Tuesday also signed running back David Cobb to the practice squad and released tight end Marcel Jensen from the practice squad. Cobb played in seven games with one start for the Titans last year as a rookie, rushing for 146 yards and one touchdown on 52 carries after being selected by Tennessee in the fifth round of the draft out of Minnesota.
