The 6-4, 275-pounder has appeared in 11 games with one starts in two NFL seasons with the Titans (2013) and Cowboys (2014), recording 10 tackles and one pass breakup.

Edwards was selected by Tennessee in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of LSU. He was waived by the Cowboys Sept. 6, claimed by the Raiders the next day and waived by Oakland Sept. 11 following the signing of outside linebacker Aldon Smith.

With the Bears, Edwards replaces Cornelius Washington, who was placed on injured reserve Monday after suffering a quad injury in Sunday's season-opening loss to the Packers.
