Bears waive running back Kahlil Bell

The Bears on Thursday waived running back Kahlil Bell.

The 5-11, 219-pounder appeared in 20 games with three starts in three seasons with the team, rushing for 557 yards on 119 carries and catching 20 passes for 137 yards and one touchdown.

Bell made all three of his NFL starts while playing in 13 games last season, when he rushed for a career-high 337 yards on 79 attempts, including a 121-yard effort in a Week 16 loss to the Packers.

Bell's departure leaves only Armando Allen and Lorenzo Booker behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush on the depth chart at running back. [
