Great Bears games of past on YouTube

As part of its renewed deal with YouTube, the NFL will make available some of the most exciting games in league history in their entirety for the first time on YouTube.

Three of the most memorable contests for each of the 32 NFL teams will be posted to the NFL's official YouTube channel on "Free Game Fridays" this season.

In a poll on the Bears' Facebook page, fans were asked to select the top three games in franchise history. Not surprisingly, Super Bowl XX earned the most votes at 39 percent. A miraculous comeback win over the Cardinals in a 2006 Monday night game was second (28 percent), followed by a 44-0 thrashing of the Cowboys in 1985 (16 percent).

Fans can watch Super Bowl XX on YouTube by clicking here. It remains a favorite given that it was the culmination of an unforgettable season. In a 46-10 rout of the Patriots, the unstoppable Bears defense yielded just seven yards rushing, registered seven sacks and scored on an interception return and a safety.

The Patriots gained positive yards on just one of their first 15 plays. Starting quarterback Tony Eason was yanked in favor of veteran Steve Grogan after going 0 of 6 with three sacks. In the first half, New England had one first down, minus-five yards rushing and minus-14 yards passing.

Fans can also watch the Bears' 2006 victory over the Cardinals by clicking here. Trailing 23-3 late in the third quarter in Arizona, Chicago staged a miraculous comeback, scoring two touchdowns on defense and one on special teams to escape with a stunning 24-23 win.

After the game, an emotionally distraught Cardinals coach Dennis Green delivered a rant for the ages, pounding his fist and exclaiming, "The Bears are who we thought they were and we let them off the hook!"

The third game, a 44-0 blanking of the Cowboys in 1985, will be posted on YouTube Sept. 23—two days before the Bears visit Dallas on Sunday Night Football. The Bears dealt the Cowboys their worst home loss in team history as coach Mike Ditka led the Monsters of the Midway over his mentor, legendary Cowboys coach Tom Landry.

In addition, the Bears also have their own official YouTube channel that you can visit by clicking here.
