Injury Update: Bears to play without Darnell Wright, Grady Jarrett against Raiders

Darnell Wright Grady Jarrett Injury Update 2025 Week 4 16x9 - 2W

Both the Bears offensive and defensive lines will be without a starter against the Raiders. Right tackle Darnell Wright (elbow) and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) have been ruled out of Sunday's game in Las Vegas.

Wright exited last Sunday's win over the Cowboys, but did return to the game. Second-year pro Theo Benedet played 11 snaps in Wright's place. Benedet and rookie Ozzy Trapilo have taken reps at right tackle in practice this week.

Coach Ben Johnson applauded Benedet's ability to step up against the Cowboys.

"We saw a continuation of training camp, which is a player that's going to battle his tail off," Johnson said. "He commits to the fundamentals, he plays with the low pad level, he comes off the ball, he's willing to strike you. As a pass protector, he continues to get better every single day. We see that, [offensive line] coach [Dan] Roushar and [assistant] Kyle [DeVan], they're on him. Really, I think he's taken a step in the right direction. I have a lot of confidence in him. If he goes out there and is called upon, he can go out there and battle it out."

Benedet spoke to reporters in the locker room Friday afternoon and said he's prepared if he gets the start Sunday.

"I'm really excited," Benedet said. "Obviously me and Ozzy have both been getting prepared for that chance. I'm ready. The last few weeks have given me a whole lot of confidence, too. Just fired up. It's a great stadium, a great challenge with their D-line. Excited."

The Bears have listed three players as questionable for Sunday's contest: nickel back Kyler Gordon (hamstring), tight end Colston Loveland (hip) and running back D'Andre Swift (hip).

Gordon has missed the first three games of the season, but practiced Friday in a limited capacity.

"I definitely was itching," Gordon said about getting back on the field. "Watching the preseason games, I was getting jealous of everybody getting to play, so it was definitely hard watching, but like I said, all I could do was work my hardest to get back out there as fast as I can."

Loveland did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, but was limited Friday, while Swift was a limited participant all week.

The only other player with an injury designation is T.J. Edwards (hamstring), who will miss his fourth straight game.

The Bears will head into their bye week following Sunday's game, giving players an extended break to rehab any outstanding injuries.

"You look at it where we're at injury-wise, too, I think it's going to be a good opportunity for a few guys to get healthy again and get some reinforcements back," Johnson said. "You look at it from that aspect — you don't know that going into the season, but I think that's going to time up well."
