Marshall hosts 'Limelight' fundraiser

Bears Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall hosted "Limelight" Friday night at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago, a fundraising event to help promote mental health awareness.

The Brandon Marshall Foundation teamed with Thresholds, one of the oldest and largest nonprofit providers of mental health services in Illinois. The organization provides healthcare, housing, and hope for thousands of people with mental illnesses in Illinois each year. Through these services, Thresholds assists and inspires people with mental illnesses to reclaim their lives.

The Brandon Marshall Foundation works to end stigma attached to mental illness, advocate for unprecedented awareness, connect those suffering to resources, and paint the world lime green.

At Friday night's event, guests had the opportunity to mix and mingle with Marshall, enjoy passed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, and dance to music spun by a special guest DJ.

Attendees also had the chance to win exclusive experiences and prizes through an online auction supporting Limelight. Prizes included the opportunity to travel via private jet to New York City for a taping of "Inside the NFL," and a private skills camp with Marshall, among others.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Thresholds and The Brandon Marshall Foundation.
