McClellin was selected by the Bears with the 19th pick in the first round of the 2012 draft out of Boise State. He appeared in 52 games with 31 starts over four seasons, recording 216 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 11.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

After playing defensive end his first two seasons in 2012-13, McClellin was moved to outside linebacker in 2014 and then played inside linebacker in 2015 when the Bears switched to a 3-4 defense under coach John Fox and coordinator Vic Fangio.

Last season McClellin played in 12 games with 11 starts, registering 96 tackles with no sacks or interceptions.
