The New England Patriots on Friday officially announced that they have signed former Bears linebacker Shea McClellin. Terms of the contract were not released.

After playing defensive end his first two seasons in 2012-13, McClellin was moved to outside linebacker in 2014 and then played inside linebacker in 2015 when the Bears switched to a 3-4 defense under coach John Fox and coordinator Vic Fangio.
Last season McClellin played in 12 games with 11 starts, registering 96 tackles with no sacks or interceptions.
