There was good news on the injury front for the Bears offense Friday.
Receiver DJ Moore (hip/groin) was a full participant in practice after being limited Thursday and was not given an injury designation for Sunday's home game against the Saints.
Running back D'Andre Swift (groin) was limited for the second straight day and listed as questionable on the injury report. But when asked by reporters if he was going to play versus New Orleans, the sixth-year pro said: "For sure, yeah."
"I can't wait," Swift said. "Another opportunity against a good opponent coming in. Try to stay on the track that we're on. Just another opportunity."
Swift leads the Bears in rushing with 295 yards and two touchdowns on 70 carries and has caught 15 passes for 152 yards and one TD. He is the franchise's first player to compile at least 250 yards rushing and 150 yards receiving in the first five games of a season since Matt Forte in 2015.
In last Monday night's 25-24 win over the Commanders, Swift generated a season-high 175 yards from scrimmage (108 rushing and 67 receiving).
Coach Ben Johnson told reporters Friday that Swift is "the same guy" he was with the Lions when the pair overlapped in Detroit from 2020-22.
"It's what I remember from my Detroit days when he was a rookie all the way until he left town there," Johnson said. "This guy is an explosive athlete. We've just got to give him some space, and he can do some dynamic things with the ball in his hands.
"That's been the case all season long. I'm glad it came to fruition there last week when we needed it. He has that ability to ignite our offense, give us a spark, make people miss in space and he can be dangerous. That's our mission as coaches and as his teammates is to help him find that space."
In other injury news, veteran defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) was limited in practice after being held out Thursday and is listed as questionable.
Meanwhile, kicker Cairo Santos (thigh) and linebacker Noah Sewell (concussion) have been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Saints.
Kicker Jake Moody is expected to be elevated from the practice squad for the second straight week. In his Bears debut Monday night, Moody made 4 of 5 field-goal attempts in wet and windy conditions in Washington, including a game-winning 38-yarder as time expired.
Moody's decisive kick came after he had a 48-yard attempt blocked on the first play of the fourth quarter.
Said special teams coordinator Richard Hightower: "To have the mental fortitude to go back out there with three seconds, with the game on the line in those kind of conditions and deliver and not blink, that's what I'm really encouraged about."
Running back Travis Homer (calf), defensive end Austin Booker (knee) and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga (knee) practiced in full Friday and are listed as questionable. All three have been designated to return from injured reserve but have not yet been activated.
